  • Canvas

    In the game Canvas, you play as an artist competing against your fellow players. You draw a series of transparent cards with images on them, then layer 3 of the cards together to create a unique picture. Icons at the bottom of your painting will show if you've met any of the requirements to earn points. Each player creates 3 pieces of art during the game, and when the scoring is done, the player with the most points wins.

  • Monopoly Empire

    Monopoly Empire was a family board game by Hasbro. It was a variation on the classic board game Monopoly, was first published around 2013, and discontinued around 2018. Why was it discontinued? We'd love to know that answer, because it is one of our favorite games!

  • Boggle

    This week we play a few rounds of Boggle, the classic word-finding game that premiered in 1972.

  • Cascadia

    Cascadia is a habitat tile placement and animal collecting game that features the wildlife of the Pacific Northwest. The game was published in 2021, and is for 1 to 4 players ages 10 and up. The game take about 30-45 minutes to play. Also this week:

  • Escape from the Evil Garden

    In the boardgame Escape from the Evil Garden, players take on the role of unsuspecting gentlefolk who race to survive an afternoon in a garden maze. First person to escape wins. The game is for 2 to 6 players, ages 10 and up.

  • Stray

    Stray, an adventure/puzzle video game developed by Blue Twelve Studio, is a game in which you become a cat trapped in an underground world of dilapidated buildings, mysterious robots, and deadly little creatures called Zurks. With the help of a companion robot who acts as your interpreter, you traverse the world, searching for clues to the way out.   • Monument Valley

    Monument Valley, and the sequel Monument Valley 2, are a pair of very unique isometric puzzle games by indie developer Ustwo Games. Originally published for mobile devices, the games have been recently updated for the PC in special panoramic versions, and this week we downloaded both titles and tried them out. We are also counting down to our 100th episode, and in celebration, we're giving away a hardcover box set of books 1-3 of Max Brallier's series The Last Kids on Earth.   • Spot it!

    Spot it! is a fun, ultra-portable matching game the entire family will enjoy. The idea is simple - match one of the eight pictures on your card to one of the eight pictures on another card. When you find a match, grab the card. But watch out, because your opponents are also trying to find a match, and whoever makes a match first gets the card. Gameplay is fast and furious, and is loads of fun.

  • Throw Throw Burrito

    From the creators of Exploding Kittens comes Throw Throw Burrito! Billed as the world's first dodgeball card game, Throw Throw Burrito is a family friendly game for 2-6 players age 7 and up. This fast-paced game will have you rapidly trying to collect matching groups of 3 cards, and throwing a soft, foam burrito at your opponents.

  • The Sims

    This week, Linnea and Evan take the helm, and do a show entirely by themselves! Their topic is EA's computer game The Sims, a life simulation game that allows you to create and control virtual people.
