  • The Mandalorian – Season 3

Season 3 of The Mandalorian first aired on Disney+ from March through April of 2023. The 8 episodes followed our main character Din Djarin and his little pal Grogu, but also veered off into other characters, factions, and storylines that felt somewhat out of place. This week, Evan and Brian have a brief discussion about the show.

  • The Owl House – Season 3

The Owl House series recently wrapped up the 3rd and final season with a 3 episode send-off. The previous 2 seasons had around 20 episodes each to tell the story of Luz, Eda, and King, and their adventures on the Boiling Isles. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled by Disney Execs, and the storytellers were left with only 3 extended episodes to bring the show to a conclusion. On this week's show we discuss whether they arrived at a satisfying ending.

  • Lockwood & Co.

Lockwood and Co. is a supernatural young adult television series that premiered on Netflix in January, 2023. The story is based on the Lockwood and Co. series of books by author Jonathan Stroud. The 8 episode series covers the events of the first 2 books, which were titled The Screaming Staircase and The Whispering Skull. Lockwood and Co. has a unique story: it’s set in present day Britain, but it’s an alternate timeline, where ghosts are real and their touch will kill you. The world has been dealing with this problem for 50 years, and to this day, no one knows what caused it or how to stop it. While adults cannot sense the ghosts, children and teens can, and those who are gifted with this ability work as ghost hunters. The series stars Ruby Stokes as Lucy Carlyle, an extremely talented teen who can listen the and even speak with ghosts. Cameron Chapman stars as Antony Lockwood, the charismatic leader of Lockwood & Co., and rounding out the group is Ali Hadji-Heshmati as George Karim, the book-smart researcher for the group.

  • The Owl House, Season 2

Disney's animated series The Owl House follows the adventures of Luz, a girl who travels through a magical doorway to an enchanted land called the Boiling Isles. The 21 episodes of season 2 aired from June 2021 to May 2022, and felt much more cohesive than the first season. It also saw the introduction of some new fan-favorite characters, and ended on a huge cliff hanger that will lead into season 3. For those interested, our discussion of season one of The Owl House can be found on episode 26 of our show.

  • Bad Movies

One day as we scrolled through the offerings on Disney+, we stumbled across a movie from the Disney Channel, circa 1999, called Can of Worms. Evan really wanted us to watch it, so we hunkered down and gave it a go. This week, we talk a little about the movie, but more about bad movies in general, and if they are necessary to make good movies good by comparison.

  • Wednesday

We had a lot of fun on the show this week! In addition to talking about the hit Netflix show Wednesday, we also learned that Evan was cast as Donkey in the junior version of Shrek, Linnea will be trying out for the one-act plays at her school, and one of Linnea's friends refers to Evan as "Big Haired Evan." All this, plus an outtake at the end of the show. Who could ask for more?
