  • Interview with Jared Cullum – Part 1

    Jared Cullum is the award-wining author/illustrator of the wonderful 2020 graphic novel Kodi. Kodi tells the story of Katya, a young girl visiting her grandma in Alaska, who meets and befriends Kodi, a giant Kodiak bear. We all loved the book and Jared's unique watercolor style so much so that we reached out to him about appearing on our show, and he kindly accepted. As you’ll hear in this, the first half of our two-part interview, Jared loves talking about the process of art, studying the masters from the Impressionist era, and the process involved in creating a graphic novel.

    Once again, the Star Wars universe returns to the planet Tatooine to follow the adventures of the notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett in the Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett.     This week we discuss Turning Red, a 2022 animated movie by Pixar Animation Studios. The story follows Meilin "Mei" Lee, a 13-year-old girl who, through a quirk of her family history, suddenly turns into a panda when she experiences strong emotions.

    From the creators of Exploding Kittens comes Throw Throw Burrito! Billed as the world's first dodgeball card game, Throw Throw Burrito is a family friendly game for 2-6 players age 7 and up. This fast-paced game will have you rapidly trying to collect matching groups of 3 cards, and throwing a soft, foam burrito at your opponents.

  • Airborn

    Kenneth Oppel's 2004 novel Airborn tells the story of young Matt Cruise, a cabin boy on the airship Aurora. His latest transoceanic journey sees him helping an inquisitive young lady, trying to outwit a band of pirates, and searching for an elusive beast that may or may not exist. The story is set in a world adjacent to ours, where airplanes don't exist, but luxury dirigibles the length of football fields roam the skies. It's a wonderful book, and we all highly recommend it!

  • She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (Seasons 2-5)

    This week, Linnea leads our discussion of seasons 2 through 5 of the animated Netflix series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. She series won many awards for outstanding Kids and Family Programming.

  • The Sims

    This week, Linnea and Evan take the helm, and do a show entirely by themselves! Their topic is EA's computer game The Sims, a life simulation game that allows you to create and control virtual people.

  • My So-Called Life

    My So-Called Life was a television drama series created by Winnie Holzman that aired on ABC in the Fall of 1994. The 19 episode series followed the life of 15-year-old Angela Chase as she navigated family life, friends, and school. Claire Danes, Tom Irwin, Bess Armstrong, Jared Leto, and Wilson Cruz were just a few of the ensemble cast of this standout show.

  • Hawkeye

    The Disney+ series Hawkeye follows the adventures of our favorite archer, Clint Barton, as he tries to navigate the appearance of his #1 fan, shadows of his past, and the mafia, all while trying to get home to celebrate Christmas with his family.
